Cerebral Assassin

A country can be judged by the quality of its proverbs.
A courtyard common to all will be swept by none.
A drink precedes a story.
A drowning man is not troubled by rain.

Sociology lecture was good, if not for all my coughing during the class. I have a lot of studying to do. O.olll

Training at SIM will be put on hold till June as of today.
I guess it was fitting that we should end April with a sparring session…
We had four way sparring and the normal pairing.
Here are the sparring pairs/grps:
Sharon vs Ticha, Genevieve vs Li Hua
Yong Jet vs Desmond, Jill vs Jeyanthi
Yong Jet vs Jared
Sharon vs Genevieve, Desmond vs Jared

It being my third time sparring, I was more prepared and more aware of what I was doing and not just whack-whack-whack all the way like the previous times. The result was that I got less blue blacks. Note that I said ‘less’. XP
Yong jet is the official ‘cerebral assassin’ of the club. Or should I say, he can’t seem to control his kicking/legs. The cheek of Desmond and eye of Jared are proof. Beware all you might potentially get kicked by him.
If I have to spar with him one day, I think I will just K.O. myself and save myself the suffering…haha…
I taught Jeyanthi and Ticha their blue-brown patterns… Haha
Have to get my patterns (taegueks) right and down to pat. Its fun to be able to do so many patterns … variety is the spice of life. Booya~! ^-^

Second training was fun, as usual. ^-^
The ride there was rather interesting. Hahaha… I wonder how much money we raise for the club fund…
-migumi laughter-
At the CC, we did some rather nice kicks and I managed to do more teaching than usual… haha…
I am going to have to abnegate big time for the next two weeks.
The question is: Will I be really able to go through with the abnegation??
I am sure that with God’s help, I will!

For now, I am just bushed and very wasted.
Need to study and need to sleep.
Someone plot my utility function for me.

The studying continues…
Shall update when I feel I can take a break…

Weak...

Do not blame God for having created the tiger, but thank him for not having given it wings.

Exams draw niegh, late nights abound.
*koff-koff*
I feel mine body grow weak once more.
ARGH~
*koff-koff*
I detest falling sick but I sense a force drawing me in that direction yet again... how many times have I gotten sick since the beginning of the year?!
How did my body get so weak?
*koff-koff*
Yang Mui commented that my coughing during the economics lecture sounded more like cymbals crashing/making noise... alamak... when did it come to this? O.olll

Tomorrow is going to be a big day... back to the books!
*koff-koff*

Study hard you all!

AGM and Green

A book is like a garden carried in the pocket.
A bird in the hand is worth two in a bush.
A broken hand works, but not a broken heart.

I am getting that floating sensation again…sitting in front of the computer and typing … looking at the screen (which Dad just got changed)… this girl feels more like she is hovering and not working with gravity… mind you, this is happens only when I am very tired… O.olll

That said, I shall try not to fly away while typing all this out… wish me luck…

The A.G.M (aka Annual General Meeting) on Sunday was the first one I attend as a member of my church. I never attended one before and ironically enough, my mum, while she was still a member of the church never attended one of them. O.o Any-o-hows, the whole thing was a fusion of irony, irritancy, headaches and interesting things. Weird combination I know, the whole day was just a big lump of ironies anyway. The biggest irony was that the sermon for that say was titled: The End Is Near. It was very powerful and I am glad that people gave their lives to the Lord when they heard the message. The point is this, that very same afternoon, members of the church debated on the topic of leasing out a piece of land to another church because of the sentimental value which the place had for many of the older members of the congregation.
If the end is near, why were/are they so concerned about the transaction of money, the monetary value of the ‘deal’ and the history of the place?!
The more important thing is that through the other church, more souls get saved right?!
Shesh~
Now… think about it… do you find it odd that I am finally officially a member of my church and I yet I am dissing it in such a manner?
Hahaha… is it me or is it society that makes me this way?

I left the AGM at 5.15pm to rush down to the CC for the training session which started at 5pm. I passed my ballots to Elise jie to hand in. All the people got elected and all the resolutions got passed… according to Auntie Jac, the whole thing ended at 6pm… good thing I left early… I grabbed a cab following my exasperation in waiting for the bus… the driver was an uncle who has not driven for a very long time. He did not know how to get to the CC and had a headache trying to decide which route was best to get there. I gave him the directions to the place and gave him a tip in the end. Before you scold me for letting my money fly, I shall put up my defense and say that I have a soft spot for old man… the kindly looking ones and that I believe he really needed the money.
Training was good. I taught my class and that was about it. Hung out with my society guys and ended walking home with Charlie and Jared. Charlie was at the CC practicing his break dancing moves with his friends.
Got home, studied and packed for today. Slept late coz I stayed up to watch Wrestle Mania 21. Woohooo~
It has been a very long time since I watched a WWE special and this one was indeed very unique. Stone Cold! Edge! Shawn Michaels! John Cena! I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!
-migumi laughter-
Both Desmond and I stayed up to watch it, had a lot of things to comment about the matches… hahaha…
The spoofs of the movies the superstars did were priceless! I love the Gladiator one! And the one with Eugene! He is so adorable! Mah chum like a teddy bear! Hahaha…

Had sociology lecture with Dr. Wong from 1pm to 4pm. Having finished the lecture, I and Desmond, who was in the same class, went up to the student lounge to study. We also got something to eat before training started. As it went, Gen and Chen Qing were supposed to come for training, but none of them turned up. That left me and Des to have a personalized training session with Mr. Chow. Heh~
Wednesday should prove to be very different. It being the last session before the SIM May break and all… the turn out should be big and it being a Wednesday, we will get to spar.
-migumi laughter-
Oh yeah, I passed the grading and am now a green belter. :D
But! I am a green belter with the pattern knowledge of a blue-brown belter.
Buah hahahaha…

All my peeps having exams soon:
STUDY HARD!!!!
MUG!
MUG!
MUG!
MUG!

I shall take my own advice…back to the books for me... I wonder if I will float away from the words on the pages…
-rubs head-

234...

Hard work has a future payoff. Laziness pays off NOW.
The sooner you fall behind, the more time you'll have to catch up.
Many people quit looking for work when they find a job.
A clean desk is a sign of a cluttered desk drawer.
Mines are equal opportunity weapons.
Make it too tough for the enemy to get in and you can't get out.
Incoming fire has the right of way.
If it's stupid but works, it isn't stupid.

-takes a huge breath-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY YANG MUI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*pant-pant*
Hope your day was good… enjoy your new fridge! :)

Studying is not easy when one stays in a home with so many distractions. Television, computer, bed(s), piano, fridge, phones…
If only SIM was as close to home as SRJC. Used to go to SR to study from morning till night while I was studying for the A’s… go back until mah chum never started study break ;P… I tend to study better while I am in school. Not only are there people to study with, but for some reason, I tend to concentrate better when I am there… which is probably why I came up with that hair brain idea. It was supposed to involve Yong Jet and a few other friends…but as with all hair brained ideas of mine… I probably will never see it materialize … can’t blame me for trying to be creative right? X)
Since I can’t get the school to be nearer to my home, I just have to find my own means of studying in the house… block out everything else, focus and find that plain of existence where nothing but books, notes and anything related to school matters…
For that purpose of studying…I converted one of the rooms into a cell… so now I have no contact with the outside world while I am studying… woohooo~
-does the dance of books-
However, that does not mean that I will no longer be going to school to study… I still wanna try studying from morning till night on the SIM campus… heehee… the only thing I would bitch about regarding the venue is that it is too bloody hot at times… argh~
Better than nothing lah…
The joy of the Lord is my strength!
Wooyeah!! ^-^

Anwar Robinson did not get enough votes on Thursday, so the poor lanky long leg/haired guy had to leave the show… he is a darn good singer… but he does not fit into my theory about American Idol (see one of my previous posts). I am sure he will do very well in the future… the song he sang on Wednesday night reawakened my interest in Earth, Wind and Fire songs… *sigh*… maybe I might just go and buy their greatest hits album one day…

Earth, Wind and Fire - September

Do you remember the 21st night of september?
Love was changing the minds of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away

Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing.
As we danced in the night,
Remember how the stars stole the night away

Ba de ya - say do you remember
Ba de ya - dancing in september
Ba de ya - never was a cloudy day

My thoughts are with you
Holding hands with your heart to see you
Only blue talk and love,
Remember how we knew love was here to stay

Now december found the love that we shared in september.
Only blue talk and love,
Remember the true love we share today

Ba de ya - say do you remember
Ba de ya - dancing in september
Ba de ya - never was a cloudy day

Ba de ya - say do you remember
Ba de ya - dancing in september
Ba de ya - golden dreams were shiny days

Outkast has got some pretty funky songs…The music and the lyrics of this one really make me wanna get up and dance… heehee… mini disco at home …

Have you deciphered the poem yet?
How come you type in 3rd person?

Study hard you all…

Once more with feeling:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY YANG MUI !!!!!!!!!!!

Superstars at SIM?

Question Authority and the Authorities will question You.
A company is known by the people it keeps.
A person who can't lead and won't follow makes a dandy roadblock.
A morning without coffee is like something without something else.
It takes one tree to make 10,000 matches, but one match to burn 10,000 trees.
Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
Quitters never win, and winners never quit, but those who never quit AND never win are idiots.
People who do the world's real work don't usually wear neckties.
Proofread carefully to see if you any words out.

In my world, today is Friday.
In the real world, it is a Wednesday….all due to the fact that my lessons required me to be in school since Saturday till Tuesday. XP
Survived the four day marathon! Woohooo~ High 5 Yang Mui! I thought I was going to burn out … and I think I kinda did… but its all worth it in the end…
Come to think of it, I used to study for longer periods during my JC days. Would go to school at 7.30am and study still 10pm odd…so why is it so different to stay in school for the whole day now?
The traveling time?
The environment?
The food?
I honestly wish the school were some how nearer to home, then I could really get my game on and study long term in school. *sigh*
Make do lah~

Yesterday:
Last ‘leg’ of the marathon.
Received some very nice SMSs.
‘Superstar’ thingy came to SIM.
Went for cell group.
Finally got to sleep.
Adding all those elements and other variables up, I conclude that it was a good day. Even if I still have got a lot of work ahead of me. The joy of the Lord is my strength!
Back to ‘Superstar’…it was rather interesting to watch the numerous individuals lining up to register for the pseudo-Idol programme … not as many people in the lines as I had expected though. Suntec is more assessable than my school anyway, but it is still good publicity for the Institution. A whole lot cheaper than the commercials by SIC and Stansfield which have been running on TV mobile and what not. No offence ET… but the commercials for Stansfield are a turn off for me…they do it(the commercials) in such a way that I am given the impression that they think they are snot nose all the way… what is so great about the school? I did not even know it existed until you told me you were studying there!
-clams down-
But I digress…
Watching all the people in those lines was pretty amazing. Like taking a step back and watching society in action… what sociological problem are we facing here that people can line up 5 hours just to sign up for a competition which they have less than XX% chance of winning and yet can go from calm to pissed off in a matter of seconds while in the middle of traffic?
I bet Gosling and Taylor would have loved to see the queue.
Yang Mui, Diana and I were even joking that one of us should go down and queue for the sake of research.
Participant observation – Covert and active.
In the event that the researcher won the competition… the interview would be a total laughing riot… we spent most of our UOL lunch break at the third floor looking at the crowds and making jokes about the cameras and the people on the second floor. You should have seen the people whom the media interviewed… the possibilities of what could have gone on in the background of the unstructured interviews are endless…imagine an interview with one of the head honchos of SIM:
Head honcho: Yes, yes…I think that it is going to be very good for our reputation…
-a body gets flung from the 5th story of the atrium and hits the ground behind the honcho just as the word ‘reputation’ is uttered-
XD
I think it helped that I brought Skittles along. What a sugar rush~
Oh yeah…before I forget…I saw Baolin in the queue as well… Haha…all the best ah! ^-^

Statistics UOL is the last lecture for my UOL series… I am at once glad and sad that I will not get to hear the tones of another ang mo.
Dr. Celia Philips was my lecturer yesterday. She reminds me of Ms Rivera…one of my PE teachers in JC… anyone remember the ‘bum-bum …. Bum-bum’? Hahahhaa…

Got this in an e-mail from Nadia:

"I cdnuolt blveiee taht I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd waht I was rdanieg. The phaonmneal pweor of the hmuan mnid Aoccdrnig to rscheearch taem at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. Such a cdonition is arppoiately cllaed Typoglycemia :) Amzanig huh? Yaeh and yuo awlyas thought slpeling was ipmorantt."

Do you agree?
Don’t have much to say on my part, I am pretty much dyfunked in the spelling department anyway…

Sheena,
You going to Sonia’s chalet?

Yang Mui: “plan B: BURN the paper for light during night study..saves electricity..so many sheets of paper, think can last for 50 yrs..ok..i'm kidding..”
Erm… Plan C please…;P

Stalker: “wow.. to think i search my name and came across your blog mentioning me -.- HAHAHAA.. u must be the sharon tay i know! HAHAHAA :P confirm plus gurantee plus chop.”
Stalker? Do I know anyone by that name? Hrm… don’t mind me… how many people know a ‘Sharon Tay’? How many ‘Sharon Tay’s do they know?...
-grows more confused-

Nuff for now… I got things to do, places to go and people to kill… oppz…did I just type that out? ... what I meant to say was:
I got studies to do, piano to wreck and life to drain…
Don mind me… I am just in the process of losing it… still got so much to do… I have not reached my breaking point yet… my syntax is still good… when it changes, I know I have done my best…

-dives into the pile of study guides, notes, mind maps, text books, etc…-
^-^

Poetry : Dark wish

I don't know why
Cry ah cry

Things are not working out
They some how never do
Second guess the ‘I’
What would you say?

Hold them so dear
Trepidation!
One day they will leave
Don't intend to let that happen.

How far have I walked?
Quantify please?
Can you qualify for me?
Not here.
Anyone care?

Just passing though
On my way to somewhere higher
Going to get there before they do?

I have no idea.
None at all.

All is dark.
My surroundings.
The light draws neigh.
Fear not.

“Wo men qi shi gen qi ta de youngerster mei you se me bu tong ... bai tian wo men shi student, wan shang wo men shi brother.....you fu tong xiang you nan tong dang... wo men wan zhi ji de rule, bu guan bie ren de xiang fa ....wo men wan E, smack K..... yi tian wo men bei CNB raid, wo nian yi ge brother do mei you lai kan wo....wo zhong yu fa xian qi shi juai da de di ren bu shi bie ren er shi zhi ji…”

Sound familiar?
It’s the official chant of the Uncle-Auntie PLKCC TKD Society… buah hahaha~

Pardon me, my whole concept of a normal week has totally been screwed up. I have to keep reminding myself that tomorrow is Monday and not Wednesday...
Currently in the middle of my 4 day marathon, 2 days of 9am to 5pm, one day of normal local lecture and the finale is 8 hours of UOL revision.
Think about it, doesn't it make sense?
Have class on Saturday all the way through to Tuesday...more like studying from Monday to Thursday...heh~
Leading up to yesterday, I had the fortune of hearing all the horror stories about (in)Famous Amos. The evil beady eyed lecturer who bites the heads off students during the economics lectures and feeds their corpses to the local dolphin -friendly tuna factories… his sarcasm is said to make even grown man cry O.O
The kan chiong spider girl that I am, I kept thinking about the lecture and what not to do with it until my mind almost went into over-drive… haha…I was so worried about the lectures I went all the way to plan on what kind of camouflage would be good for the two days and write a “what to and not to do during the lectures”… yeah, I know, it’s far out, but can you blame me? I literally paniced when I heard what my friend (who graduated from SIM 5 years ago) said about Amos…
The truth is, after all the time I spent in the presence of Amos, the more I like him and the more I respect I have for him. So what if he looks like a gnome from the first Harry Porter movie? So what if he looks like a cross between Yoda and Bilbo Baggins? Those comparisons just make the lesson more interesting and the fact that they interest me is good thing because my bloody degree is based on the whole concept of economics. It is a bloody good thing that I enjoyed the lecture, because I did not I have a feeling I would be dreading the rest of the next 2 years. Right Yang Mui? XP
His shape tongue more than makes up for his lack of height and I rather enjoyed his jokes, then again, as long as his critique is not aimed at my direction I would find it amusing… anyone would feel the same way. Through out all the lectures, I am inclined to think that he was keeping a very tight reign on his temper. Many things happened during the lecture which made even me shocked, and I was expecting him to do something, but nothing came out of it so I guess the whole group of us was lucky. On the over all, I have seen the train at the end of the tunnel and I do not want to be hit by it, so I shall go diving into my study guide asap… ;)

Thank God for bringing Pa back safely.

Mummy called the Piano Tunner guy to come and fix the piano yesterday…now it sounds like a dream and the ‘crash-bang-bang’ is going to be unbelievable! Just you wait! Woohooo~

Found out today during lunch at Mac @ KAP, that Jasyln lives near me. Shesh~ After spending more than 6 months talking to her, I finally find out that she is practically my neighbour! Goodness…anyway, we took the bus back to Hougang together. While she went home, I made a beeline for the CC.
Care to guess why I was headed in that direction?
TKD that’s what! Heh~
I miss my society members and my kids quite a bit.
The warm fuzzy sensation in my chest hits when Rachel runs to me hugs my leg and tells me that she misses me. Ellie also said that Genevieve (small one) misses me being her teacher…haha~
I also miss training at SIM. There has got to be something extra in training with people who are around the same age. Oh well, regardless of where training is held, the two venues have their special points and the people at the respective places are the main reasons why I can’t wait to put on my gi and start kicking that hand-held target. I honestly can’t wait to get back my health.
Sadly, abnegation is going to be on the main menu for the weeks to come. Need to battle the exams before I can return to my training crazy routine.
For now, studies are my top priority… therefore:
Abnegate! Abnegate! Abnegate!

Yang Mui: “i'm sure u have enough space on the walls..think of the cupboard doors as well..remember to include the ceiling!!!! paste all around the house!..enough space now?”
Funny ah Yang Mui~ I think I need to write a proposal to my Dad first before I attempt to put anything up on his newly painted walls… haha…it was a good idea anyway…You got a plan ‘B’ up your sleeve? :)

Yong Jet: “Hi sharon ..sory to hear about ur illness ... u look ok today when i saw u at skol ... nowadays ..studying wif stalker n gang tml ..so nt gg tkd ..rest well ok?? u need the health to battle the evil UOL 's sinister scheme to fail us ... btw, my toes still hurt a bit .. n i wan focus more on studies… rest well ok ... take carez !!”
Heh…appearance vs reality ah~ All the best Jet! Jia You! Your toes better? Get well soon! ^-^ We shall train at least once more before the break ya?

deAn: “Yo hope you get well soon. See ya ard school!”
Thanks Dean :) Study hard!

Marc: “hey sharon, seems that you're really sick. Do rest enough and you know what, Christ is your healer. The victory is yours, as long as your recieve it. Bless ya!”
Yes! He is! Woohoo~
Have you managed to find a job yet?

I guess that’s all I can type for now, my brain is shutting down and my body is heading for another burn out… hope I don fall sick again… two more days to go and I will - still not be free….darn!...
Stress is not useful unless one does something about the source of the stress.
Abnegate! Abnegate! Abnegate! ABNEGATE!!!!!
The joy of the Lord of my strength!
^-^

C.M.I. ah~

The enemy invariably attacks on one of two occasions:
1. When you're ready for them.
2. When you're not ready for them..

Something is definitely wrong.
I have been sick/injured more times in 6 months than in the past 10 years of my life. I might have a slight calculation error there but the headaches and high fever are impeding my thinking...
Before i get ahead of myself, I am down with toncilitis. (Not sure if that is the correct spelling)
Being down with that illness means that I have a horrible fever, a bitch of a headache, irritating sorethroat and an all around feeling of sianess. Oh and least i forget, the ear infections are back with a vengence as well...
If you think that that is bad, try being in school from 9am to 5pm and trying to concentrate on the voice of Rose Mary Gosling. i will write more about her class when i am not having this headache...
The symptoms started last night and got so bad that i went straight to the doctor when i alighted the bus. Speaking of which, i took 3 buses to get home... -_-;;; its not me, it's the fever...can't think straight...

Don worry Yang Mui, i won't eat anything acidic... i can't even swollow anything except water...

Parvy-warvy!
Spend! Spend! Spend!
But did you know that shopping is a form of alienation?

Yong Jet ah~
Hope your studying was fruitful and that your feet are better... happy sparring tomorrow!
Give me all the details! ^-^

That's it for now, need to rest, fever is getting worse, but i shall not be denied my CSI!!!
-LOUD MIGUMI LAUGHTER-
*ouch*....bloody headache...
Rest well you all...don fall sick like me...it really sucks...
^-^

P.S. i have never seen an ice pack melt/thaw so quicky in my life O.O

Flying notes

A friend is someone who doesn't like the same people you do.
The more beautiful the snake the deadlier its venom.
If you want your eggs hatched, sit on them yourself.
The nail that sticks up will be hammered down.
Make happy those who are near, and those who are far will come.

The biggest problem with buying clothes from a popular and cheap boutique, is that the probability of running into someone wearing the exact same blouse/shirt/whatever is very very very high.
Thursday was a perfect example. Thank goodness I brought a jacket to school that day. -.-;;;

Daddy has gone for a fishing trip with his office buddies. I wonder what he will catch this time…

I spent an insane amount of money on my lunch and at Popular today. Have no idea what the hack I was thinking. The good thing is that I had the Popular card with me, so I managed to save a bit of money. Then again, compare that amount of money which I saved and the total number of bills which flew out of my poor wallet and I don think the discount would have made much of a difference. -_-‘’’
Anyway, of the two books which I bought, HOWL’S MOVING CASTLE was one of them! Woohooo~ Now I don have to go scouting the libraries in hopes that they will have a copy which is not on loan. The price was not bad lah… at least I did not buy it from borders. If I had, I think I would have coughed out more blood than money. But I have resolved not to read the books until the end of the UOL exams. Like that then got more sense of satisfaction mah ~ Come to think of it, I have been lining up a lot of things for the period after the exams… O.O The headless chicken might make a come back loaded with all the fire works and streamers.
Now all the only surviving items on my wish list are:
CSI : Season 4
Howl’s Moving Castle OST
Howl’s Moving Castle VCD
Michael Buble : It's time
Ms Congeniality VCD
-rubs head in thought-
I think that’s about it… at least for now… buah hahahaha…but then again, I will be spending my hard earned cash… alamak!
-face palm-
ARGH~

Someone please tell me why I am not bothered by the fact that the bulletin is still don’t even half way done?
I have a feeling that I might end up losing my temper if ‘someone’ grills me about the deadline when that person is the partial cause of the delay.
Only God knows what will happen.

Wah cawz! Survivor last night was a real eye opener. GIRL POWER ALL THE WAY! Ulong is without a doubt the most pathetic tribe ever! Den again; I do not think that it is really totally their fault. After all, Survivor is more like a controlled social experiment. Think about it. People placed together under conditions where the only variables come from Mother Nature. Other than that, everything is controlled. Especially the challenges, both reward and immunity. Not exactly ‘reality’ after all is it?
After the programme, Michael Buble’s MV for ‘Home’ was shown. First time I wan to cry while watching a music video. Wounded puppy! Given the chance, I think Michael would make a fine actor. Maybe he could have a part in a mafia movie. Haha~

"Home"

Another summer day
Is come and gone away
In Paris and Rome
But I wanna go home
Mmmmmmmm

Maybe surrounded by
A million people I
Still feel all alone
I just wanna go home
Oh I miss you, you know

And I’ve been keeping all the letters that I wrote to you
Each one a line or two
“I’m fine baby, how are you?”
Well I would send them but I know that it’s just not enough
My words were cold and flat
And you deserve more than that

Another aerorplane
Another sunny place
I’m lucky I know
But I wanna go home
Mmmm, I’ve got to go home

Let me go home
I’m just too far from where you are
I wanna come home

And I feel just like I’m living someone else’s life
It’s like I just stepped outside
When everything was going right
And I know just why you could not
Come along with me
But this was not your dream
But you always believe in me

Another winter day has come
And gone away
And even Paris and Rome
And I wanna go home
Let me go home

And I’m surrounded by
A million people I
Still feel alone
Oh, let go home
Oh, I miss you, you know

Let me go home
I’ve had my run
Baby, I’m done
I gotta go home
Let me go home
It will all right
I’ll be home tonight
I’m coming back home

Hey Sheena!
Are you going for Sonia’s birthday party?
Are you going to drive?
-looks hopeful-

Yang Mui: “ey..stick the single sided mindmaps on the wall..wake up and see every morning..sure get flying colours..hahaha..”
Haha~ Good one Yang Mui…but I seriously do notthink I have enough space in my home…let alone on my bedroom walls… the spaces have already been taken up…haha …you got an option 2 for me?

Yong Jet:” thx for uploading the grading pix on ur yahoo site ... yeah, now the pix is small enuff to fit into frenster ... thX”
Your welcome Jet. ^-^ Now the next step is to send you the other sparring videos…and burn the pictures taken during the two gradings(16/01 & 03/04) for the rest of the club...heh…oh…Jet! Your turn to update!

Kimi:” I miss the clear greenish-blue waters! I wanna go diving, I wanna go sun-tanning, most of all, I wanna go Kushin BO! Hahah”
Aiyo~… mah chum like I don wan to go like that… you think you can ta han until after my exams in May? Hrm… if I am crazy enough I might try and psycho my aunt into going for another cruise… -hysterical laughter-

To everyone taking exams soon:
JIA YOU AH!!!!! Study hard :)

We shall see what tomorrow holds.
Studying time~
-starts pulling hair out-
Oh don worry…I am fine… just fine and dandy…
-pulls more hair out-

Before the throne of God above

May today be better than yesterday, but, not as good as tomorrow.
"If you choose not to decide - you still have made a choice".
The best way to predict the future is to invent it!
No one is rich enough to do without a neighbor.

Yang Mui!
-takes out pom-poms-
We survived the IBM lectures!
We survived Anne!
-waves pom-poms-
Hip-hip-hurrah!
-pauses-
-thinks-
I take it back. Anne was not that bad. It’s just a matter of how different her style of teaching is from Na-na. We’re just not used to monotonous drawling and periods of silence. Not hearing the lecture call us ‘Ang Kong Kia’ the whole time is also a some what new sensation for me. In fact, today’s lecture was some what better than yesterday’s because there was more class interaction. Some how I feel that an IBM class and ending early does not go hand in hand, but for the past two days, we have had the fortune of being let off very early from the lectures.
-wonders what Na-na’s opinion of us leaving early is…-
I am glad that I managed to get some info into my head after sitting down for so long. Thank God I was able to stay awake for the whole of the two lectures.
-pauses-
-thinks-
Oppz… paiseh… there was a period of ten minutes where I nearly went off the deep end and wound up in La-la Land. (For those Ang Kong Kias out there who do not know what I am talking about: La-la Land is my personal sleep space. XP)
All I need to do now is decide what best to do with the time that is given to me… O.O…oppz….wrong line… shall I start again? .... Ahem! Now all I need to do is go over all of Na-na’s notes, mind-maps, study guide and that Mullins text book so that I will not forget the stuff which Anne went over with us. Must not let my effort of staying awake go to waste!
Speaking of Na-na, he sat in for today’s lecture and was busy ¾ of the time hammering on his beloved Mac. I am guess that he was probably adding extra stuff to the notes he gave us on a previous occasion. I had the opportunity to talk to him about the lectures which Anne had been conducting, lent him my mind-maps for photo-copying and even bantered a little with him. If I had more lessons with him, I think I would become his new target for question shooting. As thanks for loaning him my copies of the mind-maps, he made another set mind-maps printed on one side each for me… donno to whether thank him for extra copies or thank him for giving me more rough paper to work with… heh~
Last Friday was the final lesson I had with him and to tell you the truth, I think I am going to miss his classes.
-ponders over choice of word-
Ok. I think I might miss having Na-na as my teacher. He is the KAKK but at least he cares enough to scold us. Oh well~

My heart/chest did not give me as much problem as yesterday.
Never the less, I was and am still some what worried.
If the problem persists after the exams, I shall go see the doctor, again. -.-;;;

The bulletin is still no where near being completed. *sigh* Some one please tell me why I don’t seem to care anymore?

Oh! Before I forget … I met Mui Kun at the bus stop yesterday morning and took the bus with her to school. How time flies! She looks good with contacts. We let time rush by on the bus as we chatted about school work and school compounds and what not. Hope that the plan to meet up and go out after the exams will be a success. :)

ARGH~
Have only learnt part of the brown-tip pattern!
Must learn all!
ARGH~

Went out just now, initially just to pass Alfred the guitar tabs for his pet song, ended up buying 3 kinds of ice cream and tooth brushes as well as tooth paste for TKM. Heh~ All the best in getting the song well played dude!
Wanna know what type of ice cream I bought?
Ice cream cones, Nepolitan bars and BEN & JERRY’S!!!!
Specifically, Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. *ssssllluuurrrpp*
Wooohoooo~ Finally! B&J’s lives up to their reputation! Nothing else comes close. I will forever be comparing other ice creams to the exquisite taste of B&J’s.
-goes to the freezer to get out the B&J’s-
It’s so good that I told my family that no one is allowed to touch/taste/try the B&J’s without my authorization. They have to write a formal letter of proposal to me first.
-hugs the tub of B&J’s and explodes into evil laughter-

Update:
Jared had broken some bones and shall not be training for the next month or so.
Keep him in your prayers ya?

Before the throne of God above

Before the throne of God above,
I have a strong, a perfect plea,
A great High Priest whose name is Love,
Who ever lives and pleads for me.
My name is graven on His hands,
My name is written on His heart.
I know that while in heaven He stands,
No tongue can bid me thence depart,
No tongue can bid me thence depart.

When Satan tempts me to despair,
And tells me of the guilt within,
Upward I look and see Him there,
Who made an end of all my sin.
Because the sinless Savior died,
My sinful soul is counted free.
For God the Just is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me,
To look on Him and pardon me.

Behold Him there the Risen Lamb,
My perfect spotless righteousness,
The great unchangeable I Am,
The King of glory and of grace,
One with Himself I cannot die.
My soul is purchased by His blood,
My life is hid with Christ on high,
With Christ my Savior and my God,
With Christ my Savior and my God.

One with Himself I cannot die.
My soul is purchased by His blood,
My life is hid with Christ on high
With Christ my Savior and my God,
With Christ my Savior and my God.

This is my new favorite hymn. Such beautiful words. You should hear the music. *sigh~*
-starts humming the tune-

Sheena,
Sorry to hear about Honey. You ok a not? Din get see you in class… get more rest ya? Can tell that you’re very tired…

Kimi:
I miss the Caribbean too!!!! I miss the water, the waterfalls and the horse riding I did there! Then again, I don have much to say about the weather. People go overseas to get away from the weather in Singapore. That’s why it’s one thing to travel half way round the world to get snow and yet another to travel for more than 27hours, only to touch down and experience the same weather as Singapore. -.-lll
Haha…all the same, I do miss the place.

Yong Jet: thx for promoting me in ur blog haaaa ... tkd forever !!! ur blog is so high quality ...kip up the marvellous work!
Wow Jet! Thanks for the compliment. I totally agree… TKD ROCKZ!!! ^-^ I shall do my best not to let my standard drop…wonder if I should subject my blog to bench marking…haha~ Study hard ah! Oh yeah, go check out the grading pictures on my photosite at yahoo. The other site is kind of in a defunked state. Haha…

To the books and beyond!
Cheers!

I, Referee

Three may keep a secret, if two of them are dead.
I personally think we developed language because of our deep inner need to complain.
You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation.
The secret of getting ahead is getting started.
Patience will come to those who wait for it.
Happiness is not a state to arrive at, but a manner of travelling.

No comments shall be made about the IBM UOL revision class until it is completed.

The heart/chest pains hit again during the second lecture break.
WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!?!

Decided to go training in SIM, after the IBM lecture. Amazingly, it (the lecture) ended early, which is something I am really not used to since I have been kept back in Nageb’s classes for more than half a year…
Congratulations to Jared for being able to make his way down to SIM on his own! ^-^
We had sparring and my opponent for today was: Genevieve.
It’s her first time sparring and my second, going by those standards it would be hard to gauge who did better. We actually made a deal not to kick each other too hard. The deal went out the window when we started sparring. -.-‘’’
All the same, I look forward to sparring with Genevieve again. Its whole lot less painful compared to sparring with Jacky. XP
Here are the sparring pairs for today:
Sharon vs Genevieve
Yong Jet vs Jacky
Desmond vs Jill
Yong Jet vs Jared
Yong Jet vs Desmond
A big THANK YOU to Yong Jet for helping me take revenge.
-evil laughter-
I also got the chance to be referee during the Yong Jet vs Jared and Yong Jet vs Desmond matches. So interesting! So exciting! So fun! Wooohooo~ ^-^

Sad to say, the first person to fall down today(while sparring) was Jared.
2nd was Desmond
3rd was Yong Jet.
What a day for the guys. Should not spar on rainy days. Even though the training grounds are under shelter, the floor gets very slippery during the down pour and splash in’s, thus making it very dangerous. I myself almost fell down as well.
Desmond also injured his foot and he thinks that the foot is become a ‘pig trotter’. Apparently his leg has seen worse days. O.Olll
Jared went for second training and injured both his legs. Don’t know how he managed it but he did. And now he can’t walk properly.
Hope you all get well soon guys!
Will pray for all of you. :)

I did not attend the training at the CC today, because I have a full day of UOL IBM tomorrow. Speaking of which, I had better get to bed now.
Toodles~

Stick head out and shout

To be loved is to be fortunate, but to be hated is to achieve distinction.
False hope is nicer than no hope at all.
Practice makes perfect, but nobody's perfect, so why practice?
Silence is one of the most effective forms of communication.
You may only be one person to the world, but you may also be the world to one person.
Choose a job you like and you will never have to work a day of your life.

I fell asleep on my economics text yesterday.
I fell asleep on my IBM text today.
What will I fall asleep on tomorrow?
-crosses fingers behind back-

Went down to SIM to train, brought Jared along.
The menu for kicks comprised mainly of those to be used for sparring.
They are very energy sucking, but when done well (eg. Jared), they look darn nice and the sound of the target getting hit is very shiok. ^-^
Ticha, Ferlyn and Farah (different from the one from my church, this one is older) had their grading yesterday.
Watching them do pattern is ok. Watching Ticha sparring with Ferlyn is very funny.
Must watch the clip to understand.
Due to their grading and a talk from Mr. Chow, we did not get to do/ learn our new patterns. Oh well, there’s always tomorrow. :D
-evil laughter-
Went for dinner with Jared at Sakae Sushi. His treat. ^-^
It’s amazing how fast one can get over being sian of Japanese cuisine. Hahahaha~

Went to the market with TKM this morning. Got cut by the fish, but they tasted real good when they were on the table. Revenge is mine!
-more evil laughter-
Only 5 of us plus a new guy at cell group just now.
Name of new guy: Eric Kok.
I shall not make any comments on him.

Jeff fetched me home before rushing off to meet his pal, but my point in mentioning this is that, on the way out of the car park, we passed a boy and his mother. They were obviously on their way home from TKD training because the kid was in his gi. He is a green belt. And he was practicing his pattern on the side of the road. I am guessing that he probably just learned the pattern tonight… getting back to my reason for starting this paragraph… I stuck my head out of the car and shouted: “FIRST YOU KICK THEN YOU DOUBLE PUNCH!”
Unfortunately, what I should have shouted was:
“FIRST YOU BLOCK THEN YOU PUNCH!”
Yeah~ I know, I have officially lost it.
-hysterical laughter-
Buah hahahaha…
I wonder where all my marbles went…
-rubs head and starts searching the house-

Need to turn in, UOL IBM revision class runs for 8 hours tomorrow and the day after. The joy of the Lord is my strength!
Maybe I will find my marbles under my pillow.
Hrmm……
-grows silent in thought-

3rd Grading

Wise men learn by other men's mistakes, fools by their own.
Wise men don't need advice. Fools won't take it.
Many complain of their looks, but none of their brains.
If you think education is expensive, try ignorance.
The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother.
There will come a time when you believe everything is finished. That will be the beginning.

Personal assessment of Sunday’s grading:
Pattern not bad, but I think I bummed out on the kicking sets.

Getting ahead of myself here… let’s rewind and start from the break of dawn.

I had that surreal sensation from the night before all the way till I got myself to the CC. Don’t ask me why, I always get that feeling/ thing before I go through some important situation. Haha~
Taking a page form my previous experience of being too early to the CC I though I might as well go a bit later to meet my people from the club and the society. The thing is that I was later than other people and in the end had a hard time finding a good place to put our bags.
Reminder to self: be earlier to choop seats.
I was the earliest of all my friends to the CC and as such, Mr. Chow put me in-charge of all the grading cards belonging to the people from the Paya Lebar Kovan CC and S.I.M.
For lack of a better phrase, you could say that I was stressed out of my head.
Grading cards are a very big deal to us who take our grading. It determines how long we have to wait till we get our black belts. Once lost, it means that the person would have to start from square one, aka white belt. That would be a huge headache to cure.
The high stressed level lasted way pass my own grading. I guess that was one of the reasons why I bungled up. Have to focus more the next time round.
Brought the camera to the grading. I was not the only one to bring camera.
Muah hahahaha….
Took a lot of photos and they all up on the site. Go take a look if you have the time. ^-^ Just have to wait for Gen and Baolin and Jill to send me theirs. Haha~
I also filmed Yong Jet and Jill sparring. Woohooo~
Jet’s sparring is very xiong one, I wouldn’t want to go up against him anytime. Getting K.O. would be a shoo in for me. Jill sparred against Eileen, nothing much to comment here coz Eileen herself is a rather rigid fighter. I don mean to be mean, but if you want to know how her sparring is like, just imagine a bamboo pole bouncing around.
Thank God that it did not rain during the whole grading session. It would have been horrendous. Kids running all over the place, their parents trying to look for shelter. We would probably not have had any place to sit. As it is, even with the lower number of people turning up for grading, there was still a rather big crowd. The exodus was still round the area. Heh~

The meeting which took place after grading was the fastest one I have ever had. First time that Desmond decided not to go for his regular service and join us for the meeting. He even offered to take the minutes of the meeting. Thank God he did. He is very good at doing the minutes, got a lot of experience doing that kind of stuff, from his poly days. I, on the other hand, totally suck at taking minutes. THANKS DESMOND!
Finished the meeting and trooped over to BK to eat lunch. There in was the congregation of the SIM TKD Club and the ‘Uncle-Auntie’ Society of PLK CC. As Chi Fong put it, the gathering was more like a wu ling da hui. Haha~ We talked about the grading itself and what everyone was doing. The usual ‘getting to know you’ routine. ^-^
We went our separate ways at about 1.30pm and I made for home to pack my stuff, upload the pictures onto the computer and then make for the CC again. This time round, it was to meet JY to study. I also brought my badminton gear along coz of my games at the same venue at 5pm.
While we were studying, the skies opened up and the cats and dogs came slamming down.
Badminton was not bad. The only peeves I had came in the form of Farah and Evangeline. I think there is something wrong with me, but I some how found them REALLY irritating and I was on the verge of scolding Farah for being a total pain in the neck. Maybe I was just too tired and my nerves were too frazzled. Oh well, we shall have to see how I feel next Sunday when I see them again. *sigh*

By the time I got myself home, the bed seemed very inviting, but I did not get to my pillows till 1am because I was trying to get my photos online. Haha… the sleep I had last night was not all that good either because I got bitten by mosquitoes all over. Grrr….WOE TO ALL MOSQUITOES!!!!!!!
I love rain, but I don’t like the mosquitoes and flies that come out after the rain. Woe to them all!

Oh, time to hit the books!
Later still got the private grading at SIM… woohoo~
Study hard you all!
^-^

I like rain but not flying ants

In golf as in life it is the follow through that makes the difference.
The fellow who never makes a mistake takes his orders from one who does.
The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will make one.
Learn from the mistakes of others. You can't live long enough to make them all yourself.
It is only those who never do anything who never make mistakes.

Seeing that my grading is in less than 24hours, I think it’s kind of ‘off’ for me to have those quotes above. Haha~

Following the usual routine, as normal as one can get when one has had only 3 gradings so far, I shall not be attending any of my church services tomorrow morning. Instead, I shall be hanging out with my club members and the ‘Auntie-Uncle’ gang/society. XD
The only extra thing for the day will be studying with JY… depending on whether he remembers to message me the time we’re supposed to meet… (HUGE HINT!)

News Flash:
The bulletin has yet to be completed. I have run into a lot of problems trying to get the darn thing done….
-takes a deep breath-
AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH~
-starts pulling hair out-

weEne: tagging! wanna say all the best for ur grading and exams! cya in 2 weeks time! meanwhile JIA YOU!!!
Hey~ THANKS!!!!! ^-^

pau: hi sweetie... oh so that's how the song goes... always liked the tune, but somehow never got down to checking out the lyrics. how ya? i got broadband at my house... yeah!!!!!
Sorry I din reply earlier…or have I? Hrm… ESTM ... Good for you getting broadband! Join the society! Buah ahhaha

Well, need to remember to sleep early tonight…
Must have my beauty sleep~
Woe to all flying ants!
Sweet dreams everyone…
Cheers! ^-^

Cough blood

If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and a man.
It's a great satisfaction knowing that for a brief point in time you made a difference.

Once again, my computer is succeeding in driving me up the wall. Every single wall in my house! Pretty soon I think I might have to borrow space from my neighbours to enlarge my capacity for going up walls.
-starts to pull hair out-

The exams are less than a month away. ARGH~
-pulls out more hair-
Yes, I know, or at least I think I know, that my counting is some what off, but I think I need the incentive of having less time to force myself to at least open the darn books and let osmosis take place.
Work, for God’s sake work!
Need to study more…
-more hair comes put with increased pulling-
I think pretty soon, the dream of having a bald head will become a reality. O.o;;;
ARGH~

Today’s …opppz, Friday’s I.B.M lecture was not bad. I must thank God for keeping me awake and the rate of absorbing facts was higher than usual. Heh~
Then again, I think my mind was rather off tangent.
(Hint: girlfriend of Nageb)
Yang Mui,
Please don puke on your computer! Think of the problems you’ll have cleaning up the keyboard and the computer screen!
Although Na-na made us stay back till 5pm, I didn’t think it was really a big deal. I used to think that staying in the lecture theatre for a period of more than 3 hours was a chore. After that 12 hour marathon, 4 hours of Na-na is nothing. All I have to do now is prepare myself for Amos. O.O *deng-de-deng-deng!*
During break, I made a run to visit Desmond. He was studying alone and waiting for his friend to finish her project work. Helped him with some mathematics question before running back to the lecture theatre to eat my dou-nut and drink my tea - courtesy of Yang Mui and Cheryl. Thanks guys! ^-^
Since we all had to finish that final lesson at 5pm instead of 4.30pm (which is already half an hour more than the average class), I could not go home for dinner as I had planned. *sigh*
That left me with more time on my hands to go to Ang Mo Kio and get ready for work and have my dinner, alone *sob* Oh well, mee siam…. Mmmmm…not bad lah~
Finished coughing blood at 9pm off and made a bee line for home, to food kept for me by TKM.
You must be thinking: I tot Sharon ate dinner liao…
Yeah, you’re right, but I initially wanted to go home for dinner because of all the good food which TKM cooked and YKM bought. So eating again, or eating extra, is not exactly a crime here, because Sharon will not and shall not be denied her food! Muah ahhahhaha…
Watched Survivor while chowing down. Poor losers…worst in the history of Survivor man~ How can a tribe lose immunity 6 times in a row?! They’re cosmically damned I tell you! Some thing must be wrong with the feng shuei of their island! Either that or they are the CMI (Cannot Make It) of the CMI.
-shakes head-
Sad, sad, sad, real sad tribe.

I think there is something wrong with my body.
Ever thought what being a pin cushion would feel like?
That’s how my heart/the left side of my chest felt like during the IBM lecture…and it’s not the first time that something like this has happened.
Some times, I feel out of breath when I have not been doing exercise and faint when I do get my blood pumping.
Paranoid Sharon strikes again!
ARGH~
So much for trying to be healthy/ having a healthy body~

Ying ying has applied for the UOL Economics and Mathematics degree.
It’s going to be cool, and not forgetting crazy, to be in the same school as my NBGF again. Haha~
On a more serious note:
Ying called me up on Friday morning to tell me that she was going to the doctor because she was coughing blood, literally. That got me worried. Actually, worried is an understatement. Freaked is more like it.
To add on to my worries, while messaging Jared today, he told me that he lost his hearing. O.O
Don play play ah~
Lose hearing is no joke lor~
I truly can’t stand it when this sort of thing happens to people whom I care about. I loath having the knowledge that something bad has happened and yet I can do nothing about it but pray for them to be all right.
I hope that they will be all right and I shall be praying for them.
Keep them in your prayers to ya?

Kimi: All the best for ur exams. Dun mind me. It's the stress that is talking now. Kushin BO!

Thanks Kimi! All the best for Saturday….erm…today… heh~
Power to you! ^-^

Sheena,
Sorry I did not get to talk to you during the lecture. Did not know you were in the same class until it was too late… paiseh ah~ … I hope that your energy level is better. I can’t wait to see the pictures of your puppies. ^-^
Rest well and study hard! Ganbatte!

To all my peeps studying for exams:
Chiong ah~~~~

Have to wake up early to work…
Gosh~
Ta ta for now!
Cheers!
^-^
